met Sappa on my first trek in Nepal in 2008. On this trek I was
accompanied by my two sons. From our initial meeting at the airport we
knew that we were in good hands for whatever awaited us on our trek.We found Sappa to be an excellent, experienced and knowledgeable guide. He was very attentive to our needs and ensured that our trek was trouble free. His assistance and advice to us on acclimatization was invaluable, particularly as we approached the higher altitudes around Lobuche.
We were also very impressed by the little things Sappa did for us, such as, providing a daily supply of little bananas and chocolate bars on our way to Everest Base Camp, taking us to local restaurants and introducing us to local culture and food as well as teaching us Nepalese card games.
Sappa is such a fantastic guide, and with so much to see in the Nepal Himalaya, we have started planning our next trek with him.
I highly recommend to anyone contemplating trekking in Nepal that they get in touch with Sappa. He will not let you down.

We
took an 11-day trekking trip with Sappa and a porter in the Langtang
and Helambu region in Mai 2011. We entered Langtang valley at
Syabrubesi, trekked up to Kyanjin Gompa and continued to Helambu via
Gosaikunda lake and the Lauribina La pass. The trek was wonderful. It
leads through different vegetation zones with rich an colourful flora
and fauna and amazing Himalaya mountain views. It also offered a deep
insight into the Tamang culture and the customs, life and tradditions of
Nepalese, Tibetan and Tamang people.Sappa is a very experienced guide who knows the region very well. He did a great job at scheduling the daily treks and adapting the length and speed of trekking to our personal needs and desires. In particular, he was a good consultant regarding any issues of altitude sickness. Sappa handled all issues with the lodges, local government officials, bus and taxi drivers with great care. He answered all our questions regarding names of mountain tops, nature and other details of the area with great excitment. It was a pleasure to listen to Sappa's anecdotes on life, religion, politics and nature of Nepal and Nepalese people. Sappa's story-telling and humour has made the trek an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Sappa as understanding, experienced, funny and sympathetic guide. After eleven days in the remoteness of the Himalaya our guide has become a friend.
German Language: Wir haben mit Sappa und einem Träger im Mai 2011 eine elftägige Trekking Tour durch die Langtang und Helambu Region gemacht. Wir sind das Langtang Tal von Syrabrubesi bis Kanjin Gompa hoch gewandert und dann über die Gosainkunde Seen, den Laurebina Pass und die Helambu Region nach Kathmandu zurückgekehrt. Der Trek war einfach wundervoll! Er führt durch verschiedene Vegetationszonen mit reicher Flora und Fauna und überwältigenden Aussichten auf die Gipfel des Himalaya. Darüber hinaus bot der Trek einen tiefen Einblick die die Tamang Kultur und das Leben und die Tradition der nepalesischen und tibetanischen Bevölkerung.
Sappa ist ein sehr erfahrener Führer, der die Gegend sehr gut kennt. Er verstand es perfekt, die Länge der täglichen Etappen und die Trekkinggeschwindigkeit auf unsere Wünsche und Bedürfnisse anzupassen und war insbesondere ein guter Ratgeber bei Fragen zur Höhenkrankheit. Sappa hat sich um alle Angelegenheiten mit den Lodges, den örtlichen Behörden, den Taxi- und Busfahrern etc. gekümmert. Er hat alle unsere Fragen zu den verschiedenen Bergketten und -gipfeln zur Länge der Auf- und Abstiege und zu den anderen Details der Gegend bereitwillig und mit großer Begeisterung beantwortet. Es war eine große Freude, ihm bei den Anekdoten aus dem Leben der Nepalesen, der Religion, Politik und Natur zuzuhören. Mit seiner Begeisterung und seinem Humor hat Sappa den Trek zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht. Wir können Sappa als erfahrenen, verständnisvollen und sympathischen Führer uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Nach den elf Tagen in der Einsamkeit des Himalaya ist aus unserem Führer ein Freund geworden."

Sappa
é o cara. Visitei o Nepal em duas ocasiões. Na primeira ele foi meu
guia no circuito Annapurna, onde caminhamos por 21 dias. Na segunda ele
nos guiou nos treks Langtang, Gosainkunda e Helambu por 17 dias. Alem
disso, ele foi nosso guia no trek Cheppang Hills. Como se não bastasse,
fizemos também o clássico Base Camp Everest partindo de Jiri e
passando por Renjo La e Cho La, em 24 dias com o seu irmão Lako. O
Nepal é um pais maravilhoso e a companhia de um guia como Sappa fez
toda a diferença, pois ele nos explicou muito sobre a cultura local,
religião, situação política/conflitos no pais e como funciona a
sociedade no Nepal em geral. Ele fala muito bem inglês, é muito bem
humorado e as risadas estão garantidas. Pra resumir, você começa a
trilha com um guia e termina com um amigo. Recomendo-o sem hesitar.Se tiver perguntas pode me escrever.

ma première visite au Nepal, Sappa a été mon guide pour le circuit des
Annapurna. Cela a été un super trek pendant lequel j'ai appris
énormément sur la culture népalaise, les ethnies et les religions grâce
à Sappa. C'est un guide qui est toujours de bonne humeur et qui
connait bien son pays. Lors de mon second voyage, je n'ai pas hésité à
faire appel à lui à nouveau pour faire deux autres treks. Il m'a
également appris à cuisiner de bons plats népalais. Depuis mon premier
trek au Népal, Sappa est bien plus qu'un guide pour moi. C'est un très
bon ami! J'espère pouvoir aller le revoir bientôt pour faire d'autres
treks dans ce magnifique pays.For those who do not speak French, Sappa is a great guide. He is always in a good mood and his very knowledgeable about his country. I have trekked 3 times with him. I hope to go back there soon to see my great friend again!

trekked with Sappa to EBC in 2007. We were introduced to him by three
groups of friends who had each trekked with him before on the others'
recommendation. They were not wrong. Sappa ensured we were comfortable
and from the moment we arrived in Nepal. Organising everything from
transport to our hotel to making sure I'd all the gear needed for our
trek. He even wanted to carry my pack! during the trek the high level
of service continued. Sappa was knowledgeable and we felt confident in
his ability at all times. He made the trip fun and was always making us
